Much of the success of The Panhandle House is attributable to the fact that the owner of
The Panhandle House is an accomplished musician in his own right. He understands, from the
musician's point of view, what fosters creativity and what stifles it during the recording
process.
Erik Herbst is owner and chief engineer of The Panhandle House. He has been playing guitar
for over 15 years. Trained at the University of North Texas, Erik has played lead guitar
with a number of artists with a diverse range musical styles,
including reggae, rock, country, and blues and folk.
Erik describes the atmosphere he is attempting to achieve at the The Panhandle House:
"I am striving to foster a relaxed creative
atmosphere where artists are free to try new approaches and techniques in a supportive
environment. They will find opportunities to improve their musical skills
through
collaboration with other artists and musical talent. In addition, they are freed of the
usual production worries which are all ably handled by The Panhandle House."
